Is it the right time to buy an EV in India? The government has also reduced the GST on electric vehicles from 12 percent to 5 percent. But still the number of people buying electric vehicles in India is very less. The problem with electric vehicles is their battery life, usually the batteries of these vehicles last for 6-7 years. However, some companies say that their electric vehicle batteries are given 8 years warranty and the battery of the vehicle is usable even after the warranty. Due to the prices of electric vehicles, lack of charging stations and many other reasons, Indian customers currently seem to be skeptical about buying electric vehicles.

Benefit of electric vehicle

- EV is very cheap to run, low running cost is approximately 2 rupees per km. whereas the running cost of a diesel petrol vehicle is 5 rupees per km.
- Torque is much higher than petrol and diesel.
- Government provides subsidy.
- Low maintenance cost.
- Buying EV means you are promoting low pollution.
Some disadvantages of electric vehicles
- Range problem those who travel long distances have tension about the range that how far it will go. Even after accelerating high, the range starts reducing. The range also starts reducing due to heat.
- There is a need to charge it repeatedly.
- There must be grounding at home for charging.
- Charging station is also not available quickly, and you know the status of the map.
- The resale price of EV will always be less than that of a smartphone, this is practical because the battery life of EV is less every year.
Some things that will make EV better in future
- Battery swapping should be encouraged in low cost.
- Use only for local places.
- Wireless charging station near road.
- Some vehicles battery charges quickly and the battery gets damaged quickly.
- Some vehicles charge slowly and you have to wait.
Everybody starts well, the issue is to remain good till the end
